Join us for a guided walk in partnership with the Newport Transporter Bridge Project, along and above River Usk!
We will be starting at Newport Wetlands, following the Wales Coast Path up to the Transporter Bridge. Here we will be able to take on the climb to the top walkway of the Bridge to enjoy the River from above, with its magnificent views of the City, Severn Estuary, Valleys and of course, the Gwent Levels.
After the panoramic views have been absorbed from the heady heights of this amazing piece of engineering, designed around the waterways, there will be transport, to take us all back to Newport Wetlands - a destination worthy of an explore itself!
This is a walk of approximately 4 miles. Although there is little elevation along the coast path, please keep in mind there will be a climb to the top walkway of the Transporter Bridge. Visitors must be physically fit to climb the 278 steps to the top. There is no minimum age requirement, however, children must be capable of climbing the steps independently and must be accompanied by an adult.
Please note that the gondola will not be in operation at this time.
