A Levels Crossing Walk

Living Levels is once again proud to be supporting Chepstow Walking Festival!

This year's festival finale is a rare chance to experience both the Caldicot Level and Wentlooge Level sides of the Gwent Levels in a short circular walk – as a vertical loop! The epic Newport Transporter Bridge straddles both sides of this unique landscape and is one of only six operational transporter bridges left world-wide from a total of twenty constructed. It offers breath-taking views of the mouth of the River Usk, the Severn Estuary and the intriguingly named Level of Mendalgief….
We will ascend the 277 steps to the top of the eastern tower, crossing this iconic structure to descend on the Wentlooge side of the Levels for the return trip back across the River Usk on the amazing gondola.
