Free EarthTrack workshop. Help shape the future of environmental monitoring!
Join us for a free workshop to learn about how satellite images are being used to compare past, present and future land use in Wales. This one-day workshop introduces the Living Land Management Wales project and shows how YOU can help improve its accuracy through the EarthTrack app.
This innovative project is being led by a team of researchers form Aberystwyth University, with support from Welsh Government, and is being piloted by Monmouthshire County Council and partners.
In the morning you will learn more about the project, how it can help us manage our landscapes better for nature and people, and how to use the EarthTrack app. After lunch we will go out to Gwent Wildlife Trust’s Pentwyn Farm/Wsyewood Common nature reserves to practise collecting and uploading records. At the end of the session you will have a new set of skills, and will be able to carry on uploading records and helping improve the system anywhere in Wales.
No prior knowledge or experience necessary. It helps if you have a smartphone, but you can still participate without one.
