Join us on a guided walk at Goldcliff Lagoons with the wonderful naturalist, broadcaster, and nature detective Ed Drewitt!
The Gwent Levels are an important place for wintering wetland birds from across Europe. Goldcliff lagoons are a hot spot for ducks, geese and waders, from wigeon to black-tailed godwits and shelducks to redshanks. The highly regarded naturalist and broadcaster, Ed Drewitt, will guide us through the sights and sounds of this location and discuss the significance of this habitat for these birds.
We will start at the Farmers Arms and walk to Goldcliff Lagoons and onto the Sea Wall – please keep in mind this route will involve a small part of country lane walking and grassy terrain.
We recommend you wear warm clothes suitable for the weather and outdoor walking shoes or boots. If you have a pair of binoculars bring those along too.
The guided walk will finish at 12:00pm but there will be an opportunity to join us after at the Farmers Arms pub, where we can warm up, chat further, and enjoy a drink (you will have to purchase your own food or drink at the Farmers Arms).
Please be at The Farmers Arms for a 10:30am start, a member of the Living Levels team will be there ready to greet you.
