Natural Mindfulness - Birds and Our Wellbeing

Birds are part of our lives and all around us. Many birds such as swallows, swifts, cuckoos, curlews or robins evoke memories and emotions within us.

This natural mindfulness walk looks at birdwatching from a different angle. Rather than concentrating on identifying every bird we might see or hear, we want to find out what we can learn from them, how they make us feel and how birdwatching can make us feel better.

Often, five ways of wellbeing are cited: to connect, to take notice, to keep learning, to give, and to be active. With birdwatching you can cover all five of these.

Join Living Levels and Stefan Zitzman of Nature for You at the amazing Newport Wetlands Reserve.

Connecting with nature has scientifically proven benefits for our physical and mental health and is known to boost our creativity, mood and productivity. Listening to bird songs is only one example of when nature can help us to feel joy and to calm down.
