Writing the landscape: how to create poetry about our surroundings

Are you ready to look at the Gwent Levels in a new and surprising way?

Join us for a day-long poetry workshop with Ben Ray, exploring how to write about our local landscape.

Through discussion, writing and performance we will be learning how to find voices in our local environment of the Gwent Levels, from the streams and shoreline to the fields and suburbs – and how to make them speak to us!

The session will culminate in a writing and open-mic session where participants will be invited to share the poetry they have created about the Gwent Levels. Suitable for all – no previous experience with writing poetry required.

Workshop Format: An hour of discussion and workshopping at 11:00 in the morning, then going away to write poetry inspired by the session before coming together at 15:00 to share everyone's work together. (11:00-12:00 & 15:00-16:00).
