St David's Day folk music celebration with Katie Batchelor

Join us for an evening of traditional Welsh folk tunes to celebrate St David’s Day!

We welcome back young violinist Katie Batchelor to the ‘Sound Levels Live!’ virtual stage this St David's day for an hour of traditional Welsh tunes, including different folk dancing styles, and a chat about the different histories - and of course, about the Gwent Levels!.

Katie is an experienced folk fiddle player who enjoys playing a variety of styles at different sessions and folk groups, as well as performing with her band, ‘Fiddlers Elbow’.

So if you fancy dancing a ‘Caerleon Wheel’ or an ‘Usktown Reel’, or being on the right end of a ‘Nantgarw Stick’, a ‘Wrexham Hornpipe’ or even a ‘Weobley Twizzle’, then why not join us?

Katie is a graduate from Cardiff University with a degree in music, including research and performance.

This is a Facebook Live event so please tune in on the Living Levels Facebook page
