Join Richard Bakere from Gwent Wildlife Trust to learn more about how and why the Gwent Levels isn’t permanently under water.
We’ll all get involved in re-cutting a historic drainage grip by hand and see a modern mechanical alternative of how it can be achieved.
We’ll go through the special drainage features of the Gwent levels and discuss their benefits for Wildlife and the risks they face.
The course will partially take place outside so bring suitable clothing and footwear - including gloves and safety boots if you have them.
Meet at: Magor Marsh Nature Reserve, Derek Upton Centre, Whitewall, Newport NP263DD
