Tools to improve Map Navigation (Part 2)

Following on from the make sense of maps course, this course looks at techniques and tools that can be used to define your position and increase the accuracy of your route finding.

A course for up to 10 people, on map work and navigation. An interest in maps and map work would help with understanding in this course.

Aimed at encouraging the use of maps for walking in the countryside, and gaining confidence in all aspects of map interpretation and use. Focusing on the use of a number of techniques to help define your position.

The second part covers;

1)      Compass bearings

2)      Grid references

3)      GPS

4)      Waypoints and route cards

 Although this follows on from a previous course it is open to anyone with an interest in maps and who wants to improve their knowledge and skills.
